Please stay open forever and expand locations to the Bay Area! Due to recent travels to this area, I have frequented this place several times. It is absolutely MY FAVORITE and I'm needing this in Fremont/Newark area bad!! I would literally get take out exclusively here once a week if I had access to it. The quality of the food, price, and quick service is incomparable to anything we have here. Just ordered delivery to my hotel a few days ago and had shrimp skewers with chicken and everything was so damn good. The huge skewered mushrooms with zucchini made me happy and one of my favorite rotating salads they have, linguini!! I unfortunately did not get any photos since I was famished. Thank you for making your food AMAZING EVERY TIME!

So glad I gave SanSai another try recently after trying it 6 years?? ago during undergrad and not really liking it. Their quality has improved SO much, and I was actually really impressed at the quality, sophistication and freshness of their sushi rolls, which are definitely a tier above supermarket/gas station sushi and priced reasonably. Their cooked items are alright, I definitely think Panda Express or Yoshinoya have better equivalents, but they're definitely not a bad choice for convenient, casual Japanese food!
This place is my go-to for a quick meal when I'm craving Japanese food! I highly recommend the bento boxes, I've tried the chicken teriyaki and beef teriyaki ones with the oriental spring salad and California roll. It hits the spot every time!! The oriental salad is especially delicious as it has a nice crunch and citrus sweetness to it. I've only door dashed from here but service is super quick and the food is consistently fresh and tasty. The portion size is perfect for a single meal, especially if you enjoy variety in your meal like me. :)
I love this Sansai! Kudos to the cooks, the manager / owner for making sure quality and freshness is being served, and the front of the line staff; cashiers, baggers who bag the food and make sure the order is correct before sending it off. Thank you!!! Well done! Bravo to all! One thing I do have to say is that the food is always fresh, good, and consistent. This, my people, is rare and few nowadays. So when I get this type of service, it's greatly appreciated, especially with respects to fast food chains. I always get the chicken and sushi plate, with the two salads (oriental mix & kale-my fav) and comes with side of rice. I love that the portions are generous, leaving me with left overs the next day. Keep up the excellent work, Sansai Westwood! I will keep coming back for more as long as you keep serving up the goodness. Cheers!
SanSai is my go-to place for some quick and tasty teriyaki plates in Westwood. Conveniently located adjacent to UCLA, it is not difficult to miss this place. I am fond of the brick walls that compliment the wooden ambiance. It took me at least two visits to know the difference between their "bowls" vs. plates. Their bowls are placed on a plate including one salad or miso soup. While their plates come with two salads or one salas and a miso soup. It seems confusing at first, but you'll get used to it as you become a frequent customer. I ordered their chicken teriyaki bowl and chose to pair it with their asian salad. It comes with some sweet vinaigrette and greens. (It originally comes with mandarin oranges, but since I'm allergic to that I had to tell them to exclude it.) The salad is very crisp, fresh and zesty. The vinaigrette is not overpowering and matches well with the teriyaki. Their chicken teriyaki is grilled to perfection, moist and is smothered in their umami teriyaki sauce and is placed on top of a bed of steamed white rice. Brown rice is available for an additional charge. I'll be back again to try their sushi rolls and other teriyaki bowls on the menu.
Hidden gem by UCLA! I got the chicken bowl (petite) and was pleasantly surprised by the larger than expected portion. I got it with the oriental salad, but there were three other side options. Will definitely be returning next time I need a quick and affordable meal!
